Writing: coding and songwriting considered

Have begun to appreciate more some of my own products, where is just about time. Like have been grateful that open source gave me an opportunity to put up a software product--with few worries.

So with open source you have code which is freely seen, and with open source licenses people can download and use legally--if they follow those rules. (Of course may also download and use illegally by violating those rules.) And I've had an open source software product called Class Viewer which is over 15 years old now. And so far this year has downloads from over 90 countries according to web stats at SourceForge where it is hosted.

Is such a new thing. There was no way when I wrote this little app for help with software development and shared, could realize how exactly would have most effect for me as this signature thing which consistently brings global attention. Is an entirely new thing and perspective on power of sharing ideas, like an open source software project. So yeah, is one of those emergent things of the 21st century with the arrival of the web.

But put songwriting in the title of this post as, to me? Songs are open source writing too.

Routinely have found myself now checking song lyrics on the web, glad they're available. As can be a bit tricky. You think you heard one thing, but maybe was something different. OR has been a bit of time since heard a song, and want to quote a lyric correctly.

But those same songs are NOT free, of course. Just because you can get the lyrics, and am sure the music for some copyrighted song, does NOT mean you can start using it commercially yourself.

Now for a divergence. Here is a link to a song am considering might finish. Who knows if I ever will, and occurs to me putting up ideas for a song not even fully written? Could make it easy to STEAL but am not worried for some reason.

As we move further into the age of the web I do think some naive notions have collapsed. Like what if I had code for sale, where code was open? Think no one would pay? Like maybe you'd think no one would pay for a song...ok, you know better there.

What if some legitimate business entity considered using my code, which they could just copy off the web, without paying me? And I found out? Would they remain a legitimate business entity? Nope.

That would be theft. So yeah, there might be people stealing your code, but they're nasty people anyway, who if you knew were so capable, would you want to do business with them anyway, even if they had the money?

I would not.

Am willing to predict that in time, the business relationship and business trust are going to gain a LOT more value. And if you get caught stealing? In the age of the web? That can get known all over the world with a quickness. And you could find yourself having to do business in different circles.

We're not there yet though, but can imagine. And yeah, wouldn't want to do business with ANYONE capable of just stealing code from me, just because they could.

Just like wouldn't want to do business with anyone who would steal a song of mine, if could actually finish one which was a hit. Kind of like that example as of course is kind of outlandish.

But yeah, songwriting does involve some people who write for a paycheck. Am guessing now maybe more with jingles for commercials? But also the world of songwriting is also a much bigger landscape.

So why not same for lots of other kinds of writing? Maybe the future is there.

And you might have coders, who write for a paycheck, but others who own their code which is open and they sell use, or also I guess, coders also who still write some closed code for some buyer.

But yeah, as contemplate being able to be known all over the world with just ONE thing? (Have other global things too though will add.) Where mattered was open? Am so glad is mine, you know? Where yeah, do realize feel like songwriters might just understand.

Letting facts rule my perspective

Had been indications before, but still was different to just look at web analytics that gave me this global picture of interest in my things. And how to process? Part of me for YEARS really was expecting like someone would appear...like had read about in so much fiction had loved.

But there was no wise human--or even an alien would have been ok told myself--teacher to arrive.

Was just me with questions and the coldness of information just presented. But of course tried to talk about to people, who I could, and finally focused on settling: was fact or fiction somehow?

Or even if was fact, was it possibly mundane anyway?

Like at first thought maybe anyone who put up web things would have visits from over one hundred countries annually, just maybe from random human curiosity.

Which is a reason to have more than one thing, so could compare across blogs and later other things. And like now I look at my Pinterest jstevh and wonder.

Have so much global, with so little explanation really.

But the anxiety that gripped me with my fear of the unknown has steadily become appropriate concerns about the known. And with over a decade now, am finally focusing solidly on facts to rule my perspective.

So many thoughts had for this post, and is already long for what managed to get out so far, just with the bit started. Should I edit down? (Editor me has arrived and is being, charitable so leaving much maybe just to remind myself how much often gets cut.)  Or trust the process? I like those kinds of questions to myself that an audience may never get to witness.

When could question the facts could at times just try to forget.

For years would focus on still trying to get someplace a part of me could not quite accept was where I was at already. Certain I had to depend on recognition from others, as if the human interest already demonstrated was not enough.

But whoever you all are out there, driving those stats, have been so invisible to me. And then again, that could be comforting as well, as how was I supposed to act? (But thank you so much for being there and having that interest!!!)

Years in San Francisco allowed me so much practice. I loved karaoke to let me play at the possibility: The attention I could gain with singing just for fun. And had started quite deliberate, with my knees shaking back December 1999 when still in Georgia, USA.

Was globally known I figured from various things felt more like hints but was in San Francisco got those web stats, and objective fact from others on whom could rely, right?

And was in 2007 or 2008, and I have not been able to narrow it down for sure in my mind. Wasn't until October 2010 when I finally put up a more recent picture. And distinctly remember riding the Muni 108 bus in to SoMa and then the quick walk into the Financial District in San Francisco, like usual, to work, wondering if was being recognized.

Then laid off, denying back then had anything to do with it, and worked harder I told myself to try and figure out the web things, and make them pay. Yet actually did so much of the theoretical underpinning in the last few years. And was driven even harder last year when ended up homeless, having been evicted and then in a shelter for MONTHS.

Such a wild story where so much with the facts was so much often bizarrely to me so constant. Over 100 countries stable at least for downloads for my open source project Class Viewer where one year dropped below. I remember thinking would boost it, and made myself study my process. There was EFFORT involved and finally accepted how much effort I put into so much. And why wouldn't it be hard?

Somehow I adjusted and watched as boosted from the nineties back above 100 countries annually for downloads. And allowed myself to realize: hey, kind of cool and how exactly did I DO that?

How does any person have anything that can draw interest from human beings in over 100 countries?

Made myself ask that question, over and over again. Pressured myself to be meta. Pushed an executive function within myself to better manage it all. And with all that work am finally to the point where am better, I think, at letting facts rule my perspective.

So I tell myself. That's enough for this post, I tell myself now. Will leave in the editorial messages, and the messages to myself. How much will edit later, who knows? I'll find out as the process which have refined takes over.

And have done some editing. That editorial part of me does feel very different. Editing I think is when I more enjoy the work. While an executive part of me likes the idea of leaving so much in this post, which helps me too, down the line. Gives a sense of the work involved.

That inner executive part of me does like getting attention here and there, and I'm forcing myself to document THAT as well, but why? Of course I'm the one that is in charge regardless of which aspect of me feels like is forefront, my inner executive notes.

Being my own executive

Am sure understate how jarring it was when finally got web analytics data showing my math blog was pulling visitors from 100 plus countries. At first thought certain things would quickly happen and when they didn't, puzzled if data was correct. And later began wondering more about what to present.

Like would tell myself: getting this global attention so maybe have a global responsibility? Shouldn't I put up things that are profound?

Which kind of froze me to some extent for about three years until the shrug arrived. So lots of times, am like, shrug--will just do SOMETHING and not worry how profound it maybe is.

But also at some point a part of me was watching this creative me just throwing up content at will, and without a plan really. Just kind of vague had this idea to somehow build an audience, you know?

And an executive part of me one day was like, enough. And yanked me off the web for a bit.

So then this executive aspect started managing me, and is kind of weird. But what else could I do? Sure yeah is still me, but am in control of everything.

But it also helped me look at things elsewhere differently. Before would concentrate on artists and content, but then started focusing on figuring out executive decisions. And eventually was even critiquing some of them, thinking to myself, would not have let that go out THAT way.

So now usually operate with three aspects in general: a creative side, the writer; an editor side; and an executive side, who manages everything.

But of course other times there are other aspects like a researcher, or whatever is necessary, but the primaries are there for EVERYTHING that goes public. Like this post, where the executive me gets center stage. So it reads differently. My editor side will get it next, while my creative side takes a break. And soon enough you will get it, when I post.

The executive me though makes that decision--to post.

Some challenges of global attention reality

Got a HUGE reprieve from full brunt of shift to a global attention reality back in 1996. I had a math paper I thought solved a math problem couple of thousand years old, about packing of spheres. Weird to realize was lucky in that the paper was rejected by an editor of a journal put out by the American Mathematical Society as too simple.

Back then was 26, and had only started doing my own admittedly amateur math research April 15, 1995, as decided to mark the date. Though am suspicious that I might have defaulted later to the tax day here in the US. Am sure though about the month.

Didn't argue with the editor, but moved on to other things including a lot of embarrassing and futile efforts at proving what is commonly called Fermat's Last Theorem. Which worked out for me as in December 1999 invented one of my most powerful math tools, though wasn't certain had done it at the time.

At its simplest what I put down is same as: x+y+vz = x+y+vz

But use it functionally as x+y+vz = 0(mod x+y+vz). Where "mod" just means modular. So like 1 pm is mod 12 hours. While military time is 1300. So you can say: 13 mod 24 is 1 mod 12. So we use modular ALL THE TIME with time. Just wanting to be sure doesn't seem too distant, just a little simple math.

But what I discovered can do algebra for you. Which is really cool. Is also really freaky when you realize the math is doing math, as is perfect, and can manipulate vastly complex expressions.

Future mathematicians will probably no longer do algebra the way it has been done up until our times, as why bother, when the math does algebra better?

But also I figured out my own way to count prime numbers in August 2002, which yeah, made me global at THAT point. But still had a reprieve in that SOME math people argued with me. And SOME tried to convince me wasn't a big deal. And there was no official recognition which continues to this day.

And I've wracked up quite a few major mathematical results, and of course got wise to the behavior.

Am NOT a mathematician. And my mathematical discoveries disrupt vast areas of what people thought was established mathematics, and simplifies HUGE chunks of it. Oh yeah and corrects the foundations of all of it. As I got a paper published showing how to appear to prove one thing under accepted math rules, which you could disprove with an argument using accepted math rules. Contradiction!!!

Thankfully could explain and fix the underlying problem.

Thanks to the web not only went global as a result of my math discovery, but eventually could check objective evidence. And have discussed much over the years. Like thanks to Google Analytics, found out my math blog was pulling interest from 125 countries/territories is how they put it, on an annual basis. Which was at least for a bit. That was back 2007 or 2008, am not sure which. Later I changed the name of the blog, kind of curious. And that dropped precipitously. But last year was back up a bit to 80 plus countries.

Even this blog consistently pulls attention from 50 plus countries annually and that's just what Google Analytics reports, which is more of a baseline. Plenty of people may not show up, like if they opt out of various things.

Years ago when was still in San Francisco, noticed my behavior was puzzling to me. Was convinced back then that I needed official recognition of my math discoveries for certain things to happen. And became aware of the global web attention various ways, but had no frame of reference to appreciate its full significance.

But I was having problems I had associated with major celebrities in terms of my behavior, and dealing with at times, crushing levels of anxiety. At one point was in a townhouse by myself, with a case of beer and a bottle of vodka, telling myself didn't have a problem. And at times was curled up on the floor in a fetal position as somehow felt better as dealt with...whatever it was. Talking it doesn't help. Am much better now.

Web attention is actually simply attention. Unlike some celebrity who can look say, at a television show or a movie or some other thing to get a handle on the 'why' of attention, I usually have a more vague (but recently homeless veteran status got me on television for a bit). And mine tends to be CONSTANT. I can witness brushes of celebrity come and go, with a certain detachment. But my basic attention reality is global by default with a constancy I marvel over as the years go by.

And it is 24 hours a day potential, 365 days a year. And I can check at any time.

Like now before this post goes live and therefore global, just went to look at Blogger stats. Those are different from Google Analytics but not as useful for annual. Here they tell me weekly as default.

In the last week according to Blogger stats this blog had visits from: Belgium, US, Israel, Ukraine, Canada, Unknown region, France, Moldova, and Vietnam

So yeah at least some from unknown countries. How many visits? I don't tell as tells too much information but let's just say, NOT an impressive number. Which for a long time felt like a contradiction which gave me yet another reprieve.

Why is it a reprieve?

You tell yourself you're one of the most famous people in the world with a global attention reality that means you're one of the most influential as well. And you consider how you react to global events where your advice matters, and you look at consequences where you wonder at times about accountability. And you try to maintain an even keel.

Or it just seems surreal. And you can ask yourself: is it even real?

Yeah I rhymed a lot there. Will leave it that way. For a long time I've been a major influence on world events, doing my best as tried to learn, and often learning after that I could do something.

And now most of the anxiety things are gone. No more curling up on the floor in the fetal position, and I don't even drink alcohol any more. And today will monitor our world in various ways, and if necessary, will as I've done so many times before, act for the protection of humanity, as best I can.

(Yeah sounds very wacky. Part of me wishes wasn't true. But also is like, if not me, who? Yeah that rhymes, um, also.)

Have been a portal to our world of incredible tools and some of them are some of the most advanced thinking tools humanity has ever had. But they don't have to help us. They can help us destroy each other and ourselves as well.

We will do ok though. I have faith in many of YOU, and am working on myself. Figure will always be a work in progress.

So yeah challenges? Got those. Am a major discoverer for the 21st century. We do things different now.

When opportunity requires all you have

Have made plenty of efforts to explain myself but keep feeling like more could be added for things to make sense. Like have mentioned had major math discoveries, but importantly back in 2004 a paper of mine finally went live. That math paper demonstrated how to create a perfect looking mathematical argument by ALL the established rules--that nonetheless had an incorrect conclusion.

So yeah, by the rules accepted by mathematicians--the paper is perfect. But you can use a separate mathematical argument to prove that the conclusion is incorrect.

Yeah, really cool, huh? I thought so, and realized that with that demonstration my place in human history was SET in a really big way. Which it is. And it DOES relate to questions about mathematical consistency where Kurt Gödel had famous work in that area. And will admit did have some concerns that I might have sunk human mathematics, which were quickly dispelled. For people who wish more who have mathematical background talk on my blog Some Math which also links to my paper.

The copy is available thanks to a European agency (thank God for those Europeans) as the math journal that originally published it, keeled over and died, after one more edition, after the chief editor deleted my paper out, falsely claiming it was withdrawn. I did NOT withdraw it. Why would I?

So yeah clearly mathematicians did not react the way I expected as we are now at 15 years later, and the paper is still there. It STILL demonstrates a flaw and to my knowledge that flaw has still not been officially addressed. But now maybe it makes more sense how I got attention from 100+ countries where initially that was with math.

But I pioneered advanced problem solving tools, which I like to label as a process of abstract reductionism.

And I kept going. Made more math discoveries but started studying other things so functionally defined science. And more recently functionally defined entertainment, and did other problem solving things. Like have analyzed the global monetary system, and others things.

Oh so was it a big deal for me for mathematicians to not officially recognize my discovery? Well it upset me. I expected their help!!! And when was clear they wouldn't help got very upset. But also was curious and realized had a unique opportunity.

So yeah I plugged the hole in the foundations of established mathematics.

Refined my mathematical tools and made some cool major discoveries--without concern of competition.

Though reality is WAS concerned for years until as the years went by fully accepted was in a cool cruise mode--all by myself.

From my perspective as a major discoverer--it was as good as it gets. No shared credit for anything. NO having to make stupid speeches or show up in a suit for some academic whatever. NO reason to be an academic at all. And freedom to range without question.

But also was very stressful. My reality often felt surreal. My advanced thinking tools could give me massive influence hard to explain. And I still had to work for a living. Which got increasingly harder as have talked though things are intriguingly working better in that regard now.

But yeah by ignoring a MASSIVE flaw that showed their math was inconsistent, and needed a fix, those folks claiming to be mathematicians? To me simply proved they were not functionally. And so they were of no use to me anyway. I began distancing myself from them and like to emphasize am NOT a mathematician myself.

Does the world really care? I debate with myself. The math I use is very easy, so there is no doubt of anything I stated here. The paper is still available so mathematicians can in AWE check it at will. And I have massive influence with a global reach of 100+ countries which apparently is not going anywhere.

For a long time I thought I needed the mathematical community. Eventually realized that was silly.

I could build a better one.

And do much else. Am a major discoverer for the 21st century. Who has been given free reign to wing it often and put a unique spin on plenty of things. And I try not to take myself too seriously. Even though routinely have found myself protecting the world, which at times has gotten weird.

But then again, am just glad have been able. God knows why some person like myself gets the kind of authority I have, where have defined authority on my Seriously Commercial blog.

Over the last 15 years plus often have looked at myself and noted to myself--am not impressed. Often I wonder, how do I even know how to do these things, really?

Am a person though willing to seize opportunity though what was in front of me has taken all I have. And consider for me global attention is just a thing. And is NOT going anywhere.

Now though, more and more am like, is cool.

Some 2018 review

Now that 2018 is finally over can consider just a bit the big picture. Started out desperate for me and got worse as was evicted and ended up in a homeless shelter. But eventually started a course learning heating and air conditioning technology. Got a scholarship from a general, got a vehicle from Geico, and now have housing through Macon Housing Authority.

So yeah was a wild year.

And now to consider some blog stats. Where I use Google Analytics as is free and blog is set up with it. And will let me do things like get a picture over entire year. However it really gives kind of a bottom baseline.

So according to Google Analytics this blog had visits from 57 countries.

Top 5 Countries for visitors: US, France, India, Iraq and Russia

Least numbers of visitors from: New Zealand, Panama, Serbia, Singapore and Zambia

Yeah that's kind of wild to me. Can look at city visits, where says had visits from only 188 cities. And says were 34 languages. Where blog has Google Translate which I guess helps with that one.

So why no visitor numbers? Well the actual numbers of visitors are underwhelming to me, but they also give too much information, so I no longer share.

So now 2018 is finally over and have a vehicle this time around, as well as training in working on heating and air conditioning units. Was accelerated training but that is better for me anyway. And was top student, but hey, I have a degree in physics.

Where it was interesting to get the technical side, like with the refrigeration cycle, where of course I already knew by the physics. Technical is learning how things are done in actual systems versus just understanding the underlying theory.

And not unexpectedly I could blow out the tests in terms of the academics but was really proud to be top student on performance tests as well. But that was from perfection, as I like to work as hard as I can when it matters to get it right--the first time.

Ok, so now is time to focus on a JOB. Where am a guy with a degree in physics, my own open source software project used all over the world, and some blogs like this one, lots of ideas, and now some training in repairing heating and air conditioning units, along with MUCH, much more.

Isn't the United States something else? Where else but in this country could you have a story like mine? Rhetorical, I think.

Ok 2019, let's get things going. So much to do with so much expectation.

Some mystery with world reaction

My first major result was in 1996, where I ended up with a route to denial and seized with gusto. Could debate with myself endlessly whether was correct or not, but chose to move on, which was the correct decision. And in 1999 was making myself do karaoke, which was fun. But was preparing myself for lots that did not happen.

And when had yet another major math discovery found my previous paths to denial were removed, so learned new ways to escape.

The world did react in August 2002 and has routinely reacted to things I have discovered, which to me is weird, and much of it was mysterious. Where my blogs have worked through lots, or I should write have worked through much with writing on my blogs but feels the other way.

Some may notice on social media will routinely address the world as is easier for me.

Our species is apparently aware on some higher level of what is going on, and is protecting itself against certain things but in ways that puzzle me. So yes, there are some humans who thought to separate themselves into a higher class. They seized a huge amount of power in major governments around the world and especially in the US. And they knew about climate change, but my assessment is, were more obsessed with creating a neo-feudal reality where YOU would bow before them.

And they failed.

Their systems are crumbling now. Vast manipulations primarily relying on American entertainment industry to convince you that only money should matter. So you would worship or be compelled to worship the wealthiest members of society--even if simply born into wealth.

Even when you knew better, or were told truths that should matter more.

And in the US, they had begun to groom their children for political power, where many Americans already were just accepting it. They had even practiced torture--for those Americans who might resist, and so many Americans so calmly just watched them.

And was amusing to simply watch them react to a celebrity president, in power now, and watch if they cared if he maybe, just might actually destroy the world. A signal to them that they had lost control but greater powers were amused enough to make that ironically known.

Where is disappointing really how accepting so many people are of it all.

Is like our species has already lost so much of its curiosity.

That reality lessens the value of our species in some ways, but maybe is more important for our bigger purpose, I comfort myself with that notion.

We no longer are needed so much by our reality for discovery, clearly. So fewer people care to know. And people like me are now even more rare than before. Discoverers think different.

Especially in my country so many people clearly simply wish to be entertained. So few of them care to know--truth. Fictions try to rule their lives, and they happily comply, living out meaningless existences, only to leave the planet eventually with what achieved?

Maybe they at least leave children who maybe someday will learn how to work to be greater, and pursue meaning in their lives.

The world does not care though as has bigger plans. But most people do not even want to know what is being decided for their fate, and the fate of their children and grandchildren.

Ok.

Well at least they will not be bowing before oligarchs in the US who put themselves up as a neo-royalty. Even though some of you still try, to bow, before them. We watch you too.

Who are we? We are the people who are aware, in a world that is aware as well, with so much playing out for a future that is on its way, like it or not.

You will be ruled, but by what?

Will best knowledge available rule your behavior? Where your free will means really you rule yourself? We are defined, by what we DO.

Or will you be ruled by others carefully feeding you information so you are a tool for their wants? Maybe even if they are artificial intelligences?

Most humans on our planet do not even seem to care to know. But how can they? How can you? Know?

Maybe is better that way even though I think our world will be vastly improved by authorities emerging with full power now.

What you know WILL matter for how you live. And if you choose ignorance, you will find your life may be ok, anyway, by the forces that then choose better for you.

For those who choose knowledge for the good of our species, I cheer you. Your destiny is one to be earned.

On our planet now there are billions of humans, who make up a world that knows more collectively than ever before, and maybe has less and less concern with what we each want.

Knowledge though, is a power in our time unlike before when truths can rip through the world with fury, or salve the wounds, and help all of us to better.

How will you choose?

Your world will know. Web will tell.

Some implications with some ideas if true

There is a benefit with time with certain things. Where figured might be fun to talk some of the implications of some of my ideas with behavior of others versus other things. Like I noted August 2002 as very big for me as figured out a simpler explanation for what was one of the biggest mysteries in mathematics.

Which I like to say apparently wasn't sexy enough for mathematicians to acknowledge, and who knew they cared about such things? I sure didn't but now feel is part of best explanation.

But yeah one of the supposedly BIGGEST problems out there would have been deflated--if I am correct. Where some may guess am talking about a conjecture by Riemann who I think was a decent guy. And had some good ideas. And I will admit I check here and there to look at emotion around his famous hypothesis.

Some may wonder do I claim to resolve it, and answer is, no. My result makes it, um, not of interest.

With my open source project was actually kind of an intriguing thing to me to ponder potential implications with something where there is just question of popularity. And I finally realized that in book stores I no longer saw Java references like before. There are still Java reference books, but is hard to explain. Unlike with the prior there is no question of correctness with my open source app.

But presumably something with some amount of influence would have discussion around it, eh?

These are the kinds of things I do when bored as human emotion is hard to control. So can try to check what emotions people in certain areas may be displaying. But is hard to be sure, you know?

Like mathematicians may wish to stay excited about Riemann's hypothesis. And I can check, or try. But now seems to be the naive without a clue and remains a major topic--of others NOT mathematicians. Oh and have noticed some physicists here and there which I find ironic. Is it true? Um, will admit the likely answer I THINK is, no.

But that would shatter a lot of hearts in the mathematical...in the naive mathematical community if actually proven and raise major questions. While I have no motivation to prove it one way or the other.

Oh, well I also was able to prove that mathematicians can fake number theory research, so is less a big deal then. These are things over a DECADE old should emphasize. Is very hard for people to hide huge things over such timelines.

People can get emotional about things where the truth does not care. And is just a grind of time for mainstream realization.

Web reality means the world in a sense knows immediately, which is weird. So yeah, the world has known these things for quite some time now. And world does react, but not the way I'd expect will admit. Have tried to prod here and there, to no avail. Is a big world in many ways, you know?

Oh, but also yeah, if you're one of the clueless be assured there are likely fellow humans who know. Will admit find myself with mixed emotions around areas where I know there are people who believe things that are wrong.

But my responsibility is to share well. Where yeah, can witness the impact also. And human emotion is more telling maybe than what human beings report.

Just picked a couple of things to help me study what happens. If I put in too much besides getting a way long post can muddle the response.

Like now after this post will be watching for a try from the mathematical community globally to pretend, like it still cares about the Riemann Hypothesis.

Is an experiment you are witnessing then. Which to me is also fun.

Over 23 years pondering much

Decided on April 15, 1995 as my date for when really started pondering much with the idea of actually getting something BIG, where picked USA tax day so wouldn't forget. Which makes me somewhat suspicious now over 23 years later, but have also said before has to be close to actual date.

And maybe was a bit pretentious of me at the time, in my mid-twenties but had treasured my own dream since was 18 years old of figuring SOMETHING out major. And back then had decided would need to be math, for objective reasons.

Even earlier had read kid biographies of some of my heroes like Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein, whom I mention as pertinent in this area. Like I wondered at times, if lived in their times, with what they knew, could I have figured out what they did? And to me such was the impossible dream, which is what I told myself.

So also note realized was a great opportunity to exercise my mind. And all along was making sure would have something valuable no matter what, even if could not reach what then I made myself think of, as an impossible dream. Though now realize how part of me could also realize was maybe possible. My main thinking for a long time was that maybe modern problem solving techniques might make a difference, against old problems.

There was other complexity to my thinking as well where have explained more recently. And yes, also felt like was on a Quixotic quest at times. Is fun. Helps keep things in perspective to be so honest.

As then could comfort myself: even if I failed at least I knew upfront what was up against. And would constantly work to make sure would not be left with nothing for my efforts, if only had benefits of relentless training. Relentless training can be so cool as long as you make certain is not damaging in ANY way. That part have debated with myself as to how well achieved, especially with so much time spent.

Of course have mentioned before taught myself calculus at 12 because Albert Einstein did. Which to me is also a value in even those kiddie biographies though they tend to leave out much, which is appropriate thing to do recognizing maturity is important.

And I did have my degree in physics from Vanderbilt University for many reasons. Where main reason for the choice is because I had the ability. But also yeah, quite a few of my heroes since childhood were physicists. I would not go on to become one though, as did not pursue graduate studies.

And the web had been around of course but much in terms of making useful was maturing around that time. Where I DO need to keep a record as had to check as Google wasn't around yet. The web was kind of this new thing where people were trying to figure out what good it was. And wasn't that easy to find things.

Eventually I'd end up on Usenet talking math, where now wonder when got on through Google Groups. Thought was in 1996, but if Google was founded in 1998, guess it wasn't. Oh, I think Google bought something or other? I do need to keep a better record of how I do things or end up puzzling much, years later.

Wasn't until 2005 that blogs were big enough and big enough in my mind that I started ones, like this one! Though their existence back then was far less, stable. I'm not sure how many I deleted. I know one of my current ones was deleted and brought back. I don't think I deleted this one, but am not sure if did and brought back.

Glossing over other web efforts as looking more at the big picture here.

And didn't really get to social media other than blogs, which I consider social media, until got on Twitter which I know happened a bit over 9 years ago. Thanks to Twitter for reminding me where now also have plenty of other social media.

Well this post was useful. Thinking to myself maybe need to work more at putting down pertinent facts as get vague over time. And then I find myself wasting mental energy trying to remember details. Or just chattering away with wrong ones, like thought Google was around earlier in my own story.

Oh, so have talked much more in LOTS of other posts about my achieving my dreams, where now am more transparent on the full details. And so much may look like a work in progress to others. When if it were?

I'd still be doing more pondering. Now am more wondering, and talking things out.

Three tiers of resistance

Figured out more flexible and advanced frameworks where most dramatically succeeded in three areas: math, science and entertainment.

IN mathematics introduced a new math discipline which can do math itself. What that means is that a researcher can probe mathematical equations with a tool invented one can say, by me, which does mathematical manipulation, demonstrably better than any human. And the math doesn't make mistakes either. And I promptly found a few pertinent major mathematical discoveries.

Now feel like math people would have fought no matter what, as what I found is so much better than what the entire world had before. But resistance was guaranteed also by my discovery that a flaw had entered into established mathematical field, allowing mathematicians to have fake results. I demonstrated the flaw with a cool result in a paper that got published, then chief editor tried to delete out. And a little later math journal imploded, as in, went defunct. That is SUCH a wild story but happened in 2004.

I knew I had a fight on my hands back then, but still it wasn't like I relished it. And now fourteen years later, is still ongoing. But have detected certain people may believe they finally have leverage to suppress the information. Um, it was never suppressed. They don't know how the web works.

I think they're naively irritating.

In science came up with a functional definition for science. Best thing is helps to figure out if people are doing actual science or engaging in fraud. That one is cleaner I think. I noticed lots of global changes as soon as I introduced it. And have that definition in a page on this blog, where collect my formalized functional definitions. Resistance there is more tedious as in just not acknowledging, which doesn't matter much.

Importantly my functional definition of science not only helps scientists do actual science--it enables others to check on them and make sure that is what they are doing.

But in entertainment is where things moved most rapidly. I hedge a lot with just about everything as we're talking global across the board with impacts across all of humanity. Helps to be sure and to hedge.

However, have witnessed expected things, like in US box office. While has been a more muddled picture elsewhere, and think is about objective data available versus areas where people may have routinely lied. For instance, am very wary of television ratings. But how do I know?

With US box office at least there is a number that is generated by people paying to go to movies, which in fitting with MY expectations in terms of a collapse of old ways, with a few movies revealing audience is still there. I can tell which movies will flop now from previews, as easily is, most of them.

Went into entertainment partly because was a lighter area with less big implications. Like the math impacts global security systems, of every nation. That used to worry me more. Now am more used to it.

Am looking at severe disruptions where web is doing most of it SHOULD admit, where my ideas are part of it actually, in all three of those areas. Entertainment will break sooner though as there is only so much money available for appearances. Movie industry will necessarily break soon, but am certain others will as well as revenue dries up.

Either they switch in directions my theories indicate or they will not make enough money to be profitable.

In science things can move more slowly because of entrenched institutions. And in math there is no indication at this time that they can be moved at all as are both entrenched and now dedicated with a pile of things where desperation must rule them. So no, there is no convincing of the worst of the math people with truth. My solution there is, of course, out of the box.

Am world's latest major discoverer who came into a world with entrenched systems where breaking them up and replacing with better is running into fierce resistance. I knew that years ago but did not admit so cleanly for lots of reasons.

I needed those resisting, to have dark hope.

Makes them less dangerous. AFTER ALL, when all else fails? Human beings can get extremely physically violent. These people needed to believe they had a chance, to be contained.

My estimation is that it is finally safe enough to give a cleaner overview. However we will find out.

Web has taken over most of the heavy lifting. Which is also a protective measure. Am done with the most important things. And am impressed that I survived.

Human species has a history which is so relentlessly violent.

However, our species can advance. And people like me do come along, and try to survive and get a few more cool things going. To me is a really cool endeavor.

Web reality and strange behavior

One odd reality on the web have experienced is when talk out a topic of interest discover there are people who do not wish you to talk that topic. Where can be very strange, but like in certain areas if you refuse? They stalk you. Harass you relentlessly. And put up false webpages to try and destroy you.

Which happened to me with math.

Thankfully am NOT a mathematician so could look at it with some fascination and often with a certain amount of humor. Which would make them more mad.

There were times though would get concerned. Like one person who put up a webpage which he diligently maintains insinuated once that I should kill myself. Another put up an early picture of mine in a way that insinuated I should be assassinated.

Yeah. Am serious.

How do they get there? Yeah they start with lesser insults, and as those don't work, they range up! Eventually your death is a high as they can go, and they go there.

These are folks who often will switch to threats of physical aggression if simple verbal intimidation does not work.

Has puzzled me for years how potent such criticism can be, like when I encounter people who seem to just accept that just because some unknown person says nasty things about me and math.

That SAME person in at least two cases has also wished for my death or another has threatened it. Still think you should trust? When their rage is over me daring to try and figure out my own math?

Is SO bizarre. But web reality am sure there are lots of subjects that incite such fury.

Knew a woman who considered a friend until I realized she believed a webpage from a guy, who was a stranger to her, who had suggested I die, for talking math. But she didn't know that, right? She just didn't care to bother to understand the full story. Or even ask me for it.

Not surprisingly? I stopped thinking nicely about her too. You do need to have some kind of good sense in this modern world, you know?

Where more clarity is required

There is possibly some area of confusion with my status when it comes to some math things. Where admit have not concerned myself too much with simply stating certain things, usually making very careful statements, with a lot of hedging.

So there is no controversy in terms of correctness with any math of mine from the mathematical establishment.

There, I admitted it.

There are some troll things out there, including some really harsh things! Mostly old though like from a decade or more. More recently I ventured on Reddit for a bit. Yeah was engaged by some hostiles but still was fun.

But like any public figure I have people who put things out which are either not true, not relevant, or are just silly people looking for attention.

For example I do not have any current claims about Fermat's Last Theorem. I DID have past failures with it. And I also abandoned research on it. To me? So?

And I have math research where feel like establishment mathematicians should properly acknowledge it, though I rarely bug them about it. To me, it's out here. I know people are aware of it. Have sent some at times to them, but more and more was like, why be pushy?

So yeah thought would clarify some things. Thankfully though, haters trotting out nonsense against me are easily confronted with facts, which is kind of weird. Unlike others, whose haters can be relentless, mine are crush-able.

Kind of squishy actually.

Maybe because too few facts one way, even to support misunderstanding, and so much overwhelming evidence. I guess. Who knows. But I'll take it.

Finding foundations and goals

Was YEARS ago when first challenged by web analytics began to find myself pondering what might I do, with a global interest revealed. And became especially challenging when focusing on the data found that while my home country the United States was source of most interest for a country, roughly 2/3rds of the interest was from outside.

So the majority of my global interest base was outside my home country and for years focused there and deliberately ignored the US, as worked to figure out foundations of my web reality.

Then was forced to shift back, as found my global impacted by behavior of US politicians, which shifted at least one of my blogs to US political focus, primarily.

And guess had an impact, which should not surprise, if that was a cause. Got curious, and according to Google Analytics for all of 2017 for this blog 3/4ths were from US, and for my math blog, close to half. This blog and the math one are biggest in terms of audience. Glad talking things made me check.

So now bulk of my visitors are from my own country for here, while is still rest of the world in slight majority elsewhere.

Like, checking other social media, as blogs ARE social media as well, can most easily with Pinterest where just checked and, of my average monthly it says just a bit over 42% are US. With almost 58% coming from elsewhere. Does help to have that data readily available.

But also had to figure out money, and how best to leverage making money with the possibility of global responsibility where I struggled. My BELIEF is have major ideas, where those gather attention, and can lead to unfortunate pressure on me, so have political positions established. But long thought best process would be to limit.

Then found myself recognizing that our planetary reality might push me more than I wished, and deliberately entered into the global discussion on climate change. And soon found myself more involved in global affairs and politics than might have wished.

Now have adopted a simple phrase to help me:

One planet. Many peoples. One human species.

Now am done with foundations considered through much of 2017, and looking for new goals for 2018, where have focused on global responsibility, limited still, and monetary necessity. As much figure out how my attention reality can be monetized within my value system, safely.

And have focused much on American entertainment industry both from curiosity, as well as practicality, as it works through things where have a personal interest as well.

That meta space reality is so much self-referential and deliberately abstract, as my global reality takes center stage in my own planning and goal setting, where will emphasize--limited as much as practical.

Information distribution: fan or for favor?

Focus much on my efforts to figure out my situation with this wild new world of the web, where one area have not talked as much. So yeah, my ideas draw attention like to this blog, and some drifts to me, but also to other things I discuss. Years ago was more fascinated with it, so would deliberately share from say, my favorite artists or talk my favorite movies.

To get some perspective, consider this blog alone has had visits where is a rough measure but kind of gives an idea, from 67 countries according to Google Analytics for the entire year of 2017 so far. But only 16 countries for the month of December.

Top 5 for December: US, India, UK, Canada, Netherlands

So yeah, conceivably things I suggest might be noticed in 16 countries just from posts this month, while the bigger picture over time means can impact, well much of the world, theoretically, I would think. Yeah I hedge much. Web is so wild. POTENTIAL may be there, but what happened really? And how would I know?

Still looking at such numbers not surprisingly I'd try to test things out, and was one reason realized those numbers ARE real. However, was just fan behavior. Not even sure anyone even noticed. Which is weird, when you grew up one way, and just as a lark you're talking one of your favorite artists or talking a movie, and you're watching to see if anything happens as a result--in the real world.

Sort of thing anyone on the web can do though. Just a way to see if you got any influence.

Talked subject on my newest blog Seriously Commercial in post: Fan or for favor

And made that blog to try to figure out how to commercialize reach. So plan is most such things isolated to it as well, and have a Facebook Page to support it. And talking promotion of others or things from others for money purposes. With MY things of course, can put anywhere..

Shifted how I looked at many things though, playing around. Glad to work hard for something consistent and to keep it simple. I like my opinions to just be about how I really feel about something, without any extra motivation.

Focusing commercial in very narrow areas and a couple of places lets me remain free, everywhere else.

When truth is a pursuit

Have been focused much on authenticity, authority, and validation for so long, which worked out ok. Actually it worked out well, as so much for me ended up upside down, where for instance I had big things for me now, long ago, as in decades. Which meant was spending time after wondering who I am, what makes me, and what did I have which was actually worth anything.

Unlike others who find ways to get attention, was in a situation where an entity in a way, which I call the web, would tell me there was some kind of it, global, but not how to process it.

Would have to learn.

Now over twenty years since my first big discovery, and over fifteen years from another of my biggest, am comforted with smaller, less challenging ideas of mine, like really, what is entertainment?

Is comforting.

Where was the press? Thankfully lost. They can stay there for all I care.

For those along for much of it, one way or another, like here, you probably often knew more than I did, or even do now about how things looked for others. Am so much about understanding the center within the storm, and making certain remains, a peaceful place.

Yet was so much invisible, I think. How much a storm really? Or just in my own mind?

Regardless, with a ringside seat to what felt like a special performance that just keeps going, was always that search also, for solid ground.

These days decided am a meta innovator. Where like to try and explain what that means, when really is just thinking about the how of innovation. And importantly, how do we know?

How do we find things that work? I'm still searching for that truth.

How do we know?

When global feels like work

Have accepted have maintained a global presence in various ways like with this blog, where also have realized that it does take work to maintain. Which am sure sounds silly to have to say as of course it does! Which is why started telling myself such things to gain proper focus. Where was helped by feeling it as effort finally, when realized could watch myself when felt global slipping away, as apparently moved rapidly and efficiently to retain it, but that effort finally this year got hard enough had to recognize was taking place.

Which is great! Is kind of weird watching yourself that way though, and makes me wonder about how the mind works. Like shouldn't I just know? Why have to convince myself, by watching myself?

So yeah, began to better assess things like on this blog not working to pursue things had already achieved, but to move forward with better goal setting as better assessed what was necessary and possible. Especially how better to move in other areas where really just didn't wish to handle. Like to me is funny that my upbringing created a hostility towards a lot of money things, and a comfort in the lack, until the lack becomes too uncomfortable.

Also DO have a responsibility to others and as have struggled with figuring out how to make money have been forced to rely much on community for support. Where yes, needed it and am grateful for it, but should be working to limit to only necessary, which has helped me overcome some weird attitudes toward money as well. Is not being humble to be too dependent. Is not being smart.

Where guess maybe kind of covered things in a way that might need serious editing, but gist of it is, realized was working to maintain global attention. And also recognized wasn't doing some things I need to do, while telling myself I was trying to figure it out. Which I was, so that part was actually smart.

Is so much fun though. So wouldn't have had it any other way. Have managed to be along for the ride with much things web, while the web has evolved, without getting dragged into things do not like and especially do not like to do. And here and elsewhere have been comforted with at least trying to find my own way.

Maintaining a global presence in a world of attention will never actually be easy. And in recognizing the value of my own efforts can at least objectively assess how that can work better for myself and others, as accept that the work itself can be rewarding.

Ok sounds good. So guess will post. Why not. Still working through things. Is odd though, for almost two decades just kind of felt like hanging out, out here. You know, just doing a little something that might lead to something bigger. Now am like, hey.

Considering attention variation though

One thing have noted is a global reality to attention my ideas get, at various locations like here on this blog. And a benefit have realized to doing these kinds of posts is to document. This time though also want to talk more about how attention has varied through the years.

Ok, so now to Google Analytics which use as a baseline even though know does not capture all visits, but gives an indication.

And yeah, so far this year, which is nearly over, have had visits to this blog according to Google Analytics from only 66 countries.

Top 5: US, India, Netherlands, Canada, South Korea

And that is from only 305 cities. Where languages, again according to Google Analytics where just reading the numbers, is only 46.

Looking at those kinds of drops from prior posts where have talked these numbers is interesting also in the variation, as yeah went down, but tend for this blog to stay over 45 countries annually. Actually if my memory serves me, for a LONG time was usually around that number, year after year after year.

For a LONG time also I'd focus on the audience numbers where now I rarely even check them. And do not give, where there are practical reasons, but can guess do not live up in MY mind to those other numbers. Yet also the web analytics are more of an indicator which helps more with trends I think.

Where am talking one blog, and I do tend to notice how attention flows across wherever I can get web analytics, and variation in some ways is simple: usually have English speaking countries, and all of Europe. The up and down with the country counts tends to be elsewhere, with the biggest drop off across continent of Africa, and the other being across continent of South America.

Which to me is unexplained. Still get visits from a LOT of countries annually which is rather steady in many ways.

Explanation for yearly constancy that I like? My ideas pull the attention constantly. The variation I see is actually more like a kind of random like looking at the tops of waves on the ocean.

What impact from things I do on my blogs or across other social media?

Um, remarkably often is hard to see any. Which is why have LOTS of freedom to try things.

Reality though is that once the ideas are introduced they do not need me. And to the extent that people even bother to come back to the source, like here, is usually only cast-off attention that may come my way. That means that often I find it hard to see much impact with what I do, or say, or whatever. You get used to it.

There ARE things that can move things much but in other ways don't talk as much as too close to the underlying machinery of the web itself. And turns out? Don't explain that much. One way to figure out where I mean is, how do people even know to get here though? From so many countries? Ever?

That is not about me, but about how web search like Google and also yeah Bing work, along with whatever else gets people here. And over such things I have NO control, and wouldn't want any either. However yeah, if I got a little wild will amuse me to see what shifts, like it matters.

As explained the annual story is more smooth and constant, regardless of what I do personally. Reality of that assessment bothered me, which is why began focusing on a code of behavior. The ideas don't care but I must. And am happy now with that lesson of steady to work through such things over a period of years.

With all that said though, how do I explain that shift from around 45 countries annually to these higher levels more recently? And to me is yeah, about idea introduction.

New ideas recently introduced? Ideas around entertainment in last couple of years.

So there IS a mechanism that experience shows does shift things up which is introduction of new ideas.

Thoughts on writing to write

Some of my blog posts have the label: Writing to write. Where yeah can just have an urge to write something, which is a creative thing, and wrote one yesterday reminiscing a bit about San Francisco, talking about a Thursday and Friday. Sometimes would go out on Thursday but be careful to drink less, of course to be ok for work next day. And luckily, I rarely get hangovers. Which apparently is just something was born with, which definitely removes lots of the penalty.

And then after work could go to the karaoke bar I preferred, early. And could maybe get to sing though would fill up quick! And was harder to sing on Friday and Saturday than other days.

Where then could stay later, and yup, would at times find interesting conversations with folks hanging around outside the now gone Transbay Terminal. Where I went through daily, as lived on Treasure Island, and you crossed the Bay Bridge into what is now commonly called SoMa, which is where I worked, when was working. Got laid off as have brought up before, and eventually ended up leaving San Francisco, in March 2012.

The post really did just flow and decided to do very limited editing. Where will be rereading today to see if continue with that idea.

Full story IS challenging

So yeah very good reasons why am wary of asking people for help, along with ones already given as note am often doing my own basic research. However also with my established prior things there is an implication of fraud as to how that has been treated.

Finally explained how that works too. That certain highly placed people may have results that are not valid, but is hard to tell. Where my research finally showed that, which happened over a decade ago.

They, of course, are continuing. And I have kept at various things while wondering how hard it can be when truth is just the start where will link to that post there.

Where with me is not actually as big of a deal as you might think. If feel a need to feel sorry for anyone, feel sorry for their students. Can you imagine? Like at some prestigious school, you find out you have been taught bogus techniques with that revealed over a decade ago?

And historical perspective helps me much, to lower expectations on timelines, while the web enables much, but then you have social pressure with how people behave. So is very challenging in many ways.

Is better to have it all out there though. Have tried various approaches through the years, so actually am not saying things have not said before. But on my blogs have looked at various ways to go about talking certain things where they are very specialized.

This one has helped me talk things out as consider problem solving. The information DOES travel. Is very dramatic too, and implications ARE huge which encompasses governments. But they do seem aware of me, but there is still a drop-off somewhere. The facts in and of themselves should be enough, but are not, so far.

Why would these governments be so bad at checking into something which could be so key to their security. Like check out this story about a problem in Estonia with their ID cards. That little nation could potentially simply be shut down indefinitely if things go really bad. Clearly they'd move if they had any clue.

Why then so hard to get nations around the globe to consider security risks which are mathematically likely given evidence?

Have good guesses. Most likely is the intimidation factor and lack of education in problem areas. Most people are greatly intimidated by math as a difficult subject for them.

THAT is for those national governments with a clue though. Like have no indications that Estonia is aware of me or my research at all.

Will continue to ponder.

James Harris

More transparency on assertions

Full reality of what am saying in certain areas is that top members of the world's math community are apparently engaging in willful fraud, using mathematical approaches shown invalid in a VERY dramatic way. If true could mean extraordinary consequences for them if caught, including potential prosecutions and sense there is a national security component that could lead to severe penalties indeed.

Which is a reason for me to be careful in discussing as while I have facts on my side, do not have a lot of information about why these people are behaving as they are, and also would not want to interfere with potential investigation by US Justice Department or by corresponding entities in countries around the world.

We're not talking minor matters here.

If you thought were reading ramblings of a person desperate for attention, will admit you've been reading careful public statements which help me outline the problem. As am also looking for a solution where governments consider the facts.

These people seem to be ready as well. On their side is a lot of prestige. We're like talking about top people at math departments at Harvard and Oxford or University of California, Berkeley, who have a LOT to lose. Makes it an intellectual challenge as well.

Presumably they would NOT behave as am seeing with the facts, which is also why is taking so long.

My recent discovery of a new way to do the modular inverse is key to proving their willful behavior which is key to prosecution, in my opinion. Am NOT a legal person. Am a discoverer who understands a lot I think about why they're enemies of their respective states. But is not clear how to safely bring them to justice.
